The tech behemoth said in January it would be laying off 10,000 employees, according to a securities filing. CEO Satya Nadella said “no one can defy gravity” and that Microsoft (MSFT) could not ignore the weaker global economy. “We’re living through times of significant change, and as I meet with customers and partners, a few things are clear,” Nadella wrote in a memo. “First, we saw customers accelerate their digital spend during the pandemic; we’re now seeing them optimize their digital spend to do more with less.”

No merit increases. 158 layoffs announced on the Washington state WARN site as of yesterday for Redmond, don't know about any others yet.
